Sometimes, the best things in life come from stepping out of your comfort zone. When Peter moved to Nashville, TN, to attend graduate school and coach at Vanderbilt University, he found himself in a new city where he didn’t know a soul. Despite his aversion to social media, he decided to give dating apps a try. After some back-and-forth about whether it was really "his thing," Peter matched with Leah—six times! Finally, in September 2021, he made the move to ask her on a date.

Their first date was at Greenhouse Bar, a cozy spot that would forever hold a special place in their hearts. Peter, always a gentleman, picked Leah up and greeted her with a charming smile as he opened her car door. From the start, their connection was undeniable. Instead of sticking to small talk, they dove straight into deep and meaningful conversations about life goals, virtues, politics, and religion—topics you're "not supposed to discuss" on a first date. By the end of the evening, both knew there was something extraordinary between them.

Fast forward to March 2022: Peter accepted a post-graduation job in Chicagoland, his home turf. Leah, deeply rooted in Nashville, made the bold decision to follow her heart and move with Peter to start a new adventure together. That fall, they were excitedly and nervously settling into a new chapter in downtown Chicago.

By September 2023, Peter and Leah had long known they wanted to spend the rest of their lives by each others’ side. So Peter secretly bought a ring and, during a family trip to Italy that coincided with their two-year anniversary, he orchestrated the perfect moment to ask Leah to spend forever with him. On their first full day in Florence, Peter planned a romantic evening for just the two of them. They watched the sunset over the city at Piazzale Michelangelo before strolling around the grounds. Behind the scenes, a photographer stuck in traffic meant Peter had to stall for over an hour, unbeknownst to Leah. Finally, at a breathtaking overlook near San Miniato al Monte, Peter dropped to one knee and asked Leah the question she’d imagined her whole life. Her answer was an emphatic yes!

And the rest is history

Now, we look forward to celebrating our love story and continued life together with all of you!
